The Charter Review Committee is issued a task of reviewing the existing Town Charter and recommending changes where it thinks they are needed. This Committee under current charter rules is assembled, by appointment, by the Board of Selectmen when a year ends in a "9". The Committee established in '09 is working on bringing before the Town Voters a proposal to change the form of Town government. Starting in Feb. there will be public meetings to discuss the proposed changes. At the April '10 Town Meeting, voters will be asked to vote on whether to accept this change. If the vote is positive for the change , then the new Charter goes 1st to the State legislature for approval, then back to the Town for a Town wide election vote.
