RE: ABSENTEE APPLICATIONS AND BALLOTS

Absentee ballot applications for the Presidential Primary on Tuesday, March 6, 2012,
are now available in the Town Clerks Office. Voters can apply for an absentee ballot up
until 12 noon on Monday, March 5, 2012.
Please be advised that family members may file an absentee application on behalf of a loved one. However, the ballot cannot be hand carried to the voter. The ballot must be mailed to the voter’s legal address or post office box.
Absentee ballots for the Presidential Primary on Tuesday, March 6, 2012, are also available, as of the above date, in the Town Clerks Office. Voters are eligible if one is unable to appear at the polls due to out-of-town vacations, out-of-town work obligations, physical disabilities or attending college. For voters receiving ballots via mail, they can instruct anyone they choose to return the ballot back to the Town Clerk’s office either by mail or personal delivery. Ballots must be in the Town Clerk’s Office before the close of the polls at 8:00 p.m. on March 6, 2012. This is necessary in order to deliver the ballot to the appropriate precinct in time to be counted.

***Unenrolled voters (independent many years ago) can vote in this primary by declaring one of the above parties and voting that particular ballot at the polls.
