DOG LICENSE
LICENSE ARE NOW AVAILABLE FOR 2010!!
The period for licensing a dog runs from January 1st to
December 31st. Neutered or spayed animals cost $10.00
and non-altered animals cost $13.00 for a license. According
to the Town Bylaws, once the previous year license expires,
dog owners must obtain a new license beginning January 1st
(or the second day) of the new year.
LATE FEES ARE IN AFFECT AS OF APRIL 1, 2010 ($10 +
license fee), June 1, 2010 ($20 + license fee), and as of
August 1, 2010 it is a flat $50 for all license renewals that
are late.
A new license (first time) remains $10 for neutered/spayed
and $13 for non-altered animals. We need an updated
rabies certificate and/or a neutered or spayed certificate
(original copies).
We will also accommodate any dog owner unable to appear at
the Clerk's Office. One would mail in all the original documentation
with the fee (check or money order) made payable to the Town of
Wareham, and a self-addressed, stamped envelope. We would
register the animal and mail the tag and paperwork back to you.
However, we cannot mail the metal hook. If one fails to enclose
the envelope, it will be the responsibility of the owner to make
arrangements to pick up the license. Also, we cannont accept the
bill for services rendered as proof of a rabies vacination.
It must be the white/pink/yellow form that is given to the dog owner
by the Vet with the expiration date. Thank you. Any questions,
call 508-291-3140.
