Arbovirus Surveillance Program Report

DPH has raised the EEE human risk alert level from low to moderate in portions of southeastern Massachusetts, and in several communities in northeastern Massachusetts; with the potential for those levels to increase further.
The cooler night time temperatures predicted for this week will decrease the numbers of mosquitoes collected, posing a challenge for mosquito surveillance. However, the days are still quite warm with many mosquitoes present and looking to bite. Take precautions and apply repellents when in outdoor areas with mosquitoes.
