OPERATOR/MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN
The Town Administrator’s Office is accepting applications for the full-time position of Operator/Maintenance Technician at the Water Pollution Control Facility. This is a five day per week shift that includes Saturday and Sunday. Salary commensurate with experience.
High School Graduate; minimum three (3) years of experience in the operation and maintenance of a wastewater treatment facility; or any equivalent combination of education and experience. Individual must have a strong mechanical background and must be reliable since most of the time he will be working alone.
Must possess Massachusetts Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator’s License, and able to obtain a Mass. Class B motor vehicle operator’s license.
Must have knowledge of operations and maintenance of wastewater treatment facilities, basic biological processes and chemical reactions related to waste water treatment. Also performs the daily operation, maintenance and repair of the Water Pollution Control Facility pump stations and collection systems, including pumps, tanks structures and adjoining areas. Collects samples of wastewater, sludge and chemicals. Must maintain various related records and reports.
