WAREHAM FREE LIBRARY VOLUNTEER STAFF
To assist and augment the professional staff, 38 volunteers are currently contributing ___?__ hours a month to the library, completing such tasks as
1. restacking the shelves with newly returned books
2. pulling internet-reserved books from the shelves for pick-up by patrons
3. ordering books in proper alphabetical or Dewey Decimal order
4. training new volunteers in the above tasks
4. housekeeping, i.e. dusting and cleaning the study spaces and tables

We envision that volunteers will assume many more tasks that will not only add to the ease and enjoyment of our library but free up the professional staff to get out from behind the desk to assist patrons.
These tasks may include:
Labeling books, on reserve, for pick-up by patrons
Sending overdue notices
Checking and rewinding audio tapes (Books on Tapes)
Assisting in the creation of a monthly library newsletter
Delivering books to homebound patrons
Managing rotating displays in the community room
Taking on story-telling commitments
Taking responsibility for updating this website link
Sorting books onto fiction, non-fiction carts, etc
Cleaning CDs
Most volunteers have a scheduled slot of time each week for their library participation. If you are a senior, your library time contribution can be used as senior work-off hours. To join this volunteer staff, contact either one of the co-coordinators, Kathleen La Flamme (508-291-0173) or Leie Carmody (508-295-0164; leiec@comcast.net), to talk about what tasks would interest you.
