Mercury Information
The Massachusetts Mercury Management act, signed into law in July 2006, prohibits the disposal of mercury products in the trash as of May 1, 2008. The Wareham Recycling Center is now accepting items containing mercury. Such items include thermometers, button batteries, fluorescent lamps and bulbs, (including the new compact CFL's) thermostats and electrical switches. The Wareham Recycling Center is located on Plymouth Road off Maple Springs Road. Hours of operation are Wednesday's 1:00pm to 3:00pm and Saturday's 9:00am to 1:00pm.
