Absent:
Jim Newman, Robert Short, Robert Blair, Mack Phinney
Initial discussion on members not making meetings and in addition not contacting the Committee. The Committee voted 4-0-0 to ask for Robert Short to resign due to making 2 meetings in the last 14 months. Alan will contact Robert Short on this matter and inform the appropriate appointing authority.
Chris Reilly informed the Committee the EPA has been contacted and will start and assessment/cleanup on the site starting this fall.
BoS meeting results; Board felt senior housing proposal unit rental price too high. They also unsure of 1 vs. multiple developers. TA suggested a Task Force to move the project forward. Alan explained to TA and Board that proposed make of the task force already existed due to makeup of Tremont Nail MP Committee
Housing Investments came back to Chris with a plan to find a partner to work with to develop the full site. Also will work on rental rates more in-line with desires of the BoS.
Mark Andrews suggested putting together an event using the Tremont Facility. The idea is to get a bus company to bring a tour to Wareham. We work with the Country Store, AD Makepeace and the Wareham Historical Society. We put together a program at each of their sites in the area. We interview the people before leaving to comment on each portion. The idea is to determine whether Tremont site is viable as a historic interest to the public. If it turns out not to be then we move on to another possible use Housing – Inter-modal Center – Park. Alan and Gary will start next week to talk with the other groups. We need to contact say Gatra and several similar organizations that do bus tours to historical locations.
