INVITATION FOR BIDS

MUNICIPAL STREET LIGHT PROGRAM

The Town of Wareham is seeking SEALED BIDS from competent firms to participate in a Municipal Street Light Program.  The selected firm is expected to provide these services to the Town for one year with the option for four additional, one year renewals depending on authorized funding.  Sealed bids will be received on behalf of the Awarding Authority, the Town Administrator, at the Municipal Maintenance Department; 95 Charge Pond Road, Wareham, MA 02571 until December 13, 2017, 2:00 pm, at which time all submitted bids will be publicly opened and read. Phone calls, telegrams, postmarks, etc. shall not be considered. Bid submissions must be made in a sealed envelope clearly marked "TOWN OF WAREHAM-STREET LIGHT PROGRAM” The Town of Wareham assumes no liability for proposals mistakenly opened due to improperly labeled envelopes and will return same to proposer without notice.

A copy of the invitation for bids may be obtained from the Municipal Maintenance Office at the address referenced above on or after November 20, 2017. This IFB will also be available on the Town of Wareham’s website (www.wareham.ma.us) under Bids.  For further information, contact  David M. All bids for this project are subject to applicable public bidding laws of Massachusetts, including M.G.L. Chapter 30, Section 39M as amended.  The Town of Wareham reserves the right to reject any or all proposals which are not responsible and/or responsive, in whole or in part, as deemed in the best interest of the Town

Wages are subject to prevailing wage rates as determined by the Commissioner of Labor and Industries and the weekly payroll record submittal requirements under the provisions of M.G.L., Chapter 149, Section 26 to 27D inclusive.

Bid security in the amount of 5% of the total bid price in the form of a certified treasurer's or cashier's check or a bid bond made payable to the Town of Wareham is required with each bid.

The successful bidder must provide Payment and Performance Bonds for 100% of the contract price.

The Town of Wareham reserves the right to waive any informalities, to accept or reject, in whole or in part any and all bids, or take whatever other action may be deemed to be in the best interest of the Town.  An award will not be made to a contractor who is not equipped to undertake and complete the work as specified.
