Oyster farming was and continues to be a very important industry in Wareham. The Wareham Historical Society will host a program on the history of oyster farming by Ben
Suddard on Monday, January 15, 2018 at 7 p.m. at the Old Methodist Meeting House, 495 Main Street, Wareham, MA 02571. Mr. Suddard, whose great grandfather started oyster harvesting in the early 1900s, will talk about how the industry has evolved and the equipment used then and now. Mr. Suddard will have a video presentation, equipment on display and answer questions.
