Wareham MA Alert - January 4, 2018 Storm

TOWN OF WAREHAM
OFFICE OF THE TOWN ADMINISTRATOR
54 Marion Road Wareham, MA 02571

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

January 3, 2018

Good evening, Public safety officials met today to discuss preparation for Thursday’s potential blizzard and participate in the Massachusetts Emergency Management Agency (MEMA) conference call.

Wareham is on the snow/rain border for the morning precipitation and depending on how the storm tracks this area could receive five to ten inches of snow.

A town wide parking ban will be in effect starting Thursday at 6:00 AM. Please stay off the roads as much as possible to keep from impeding salting, sanding and snow removal operations. This will help keep the streets as safe when Friday’s extreme cold sets in.

According to MEMA there is a potential for power outages due to the combination of snow and strong wind gusts. Please take all necessary precautions including checking in on family, friends and neighbors that may need assistance.
