Wareham Council on Aging: announcement 

Fuel Assistance Program help is available to Wareham residents starting in mid- November 2020.

The Town of Wareham’s COA will offer the “Fuel Assistance Program”, after November 1st 2020 for new applications.  Recertification application assistance is available as well.

Application assistance is by appointment only,   Diana Patten. Wareham COA Outreach Worker, can assist you between 8:30 and 11:30 AM, Monday thru Friday.  You will need to call for an appointment: 1-(508) 291-3100, ext. 3133.   Bring paystubs for all household members who have earned income for the current 30 days. Provide verification of any public assistance payments that are received.  Provide verification of Social Security benefits, pensions, disability benefit and VA benefits for the applicant household. You will need SS Cards for all household members.

Verify your heating provider with a current bill.  If heat is included in rent, provide a copy of your lease.  Homeowner’s need a copy of your tax bill showing ownership, and a copy of your current heating bill. 

This program is designed to provide help with winter heating costs for low income households. If you are recertifying as a previous applicant, the new application for recertification (2020-2021) was sent in the mail during the summer 2020.  If you have a completed application you can send it with new documentation to South Shore Community Action Council (SSCAC) by mail at 71 Obery St., Plymouth, Ma. 02360, be sure that your APPLICATION NUMBER-- IS ON EVERY PAGE
