A tribute to Presidents Day: They went to Washington!

On February 19, 2018, The Wareham Historical Society will present, in honor of Presidents Day: A Tribute to the First Ladies! HS board member Nancy Cushman Rice will take the advice of Abigail Adams, who wrote to her husband, John Adams, in a letter dated March 31, 1776,I desire you would remember the ladies…” Interesting facts, trivia and notable contributions of some of the first ladies will be shared and discussed, with a special focus on those who have New England/MA connections

Also, on the theme of “all politics is local”, there will be a display of memorabilia connecting Wareham and Washington, with a special tribute to Wareham native Donald William Nicholson, in whose honor the Narrows Bridge is dedicated.

The presentation will take place at the Old Methodist Meeting House, at 495 Main St., Wareham. The time is 7 pm. Refreshments will be served after the program.
