Public Schools Closed March 16 - 20, 2020

Dear Parent/Guardians,

Although there have been no diagnosis cases in our community, at this time, I have made the decision to close the Wareham Public Schools for one week beginning Monday, March 16, 2020 for the health and safety of our school community.

During this week, I will be making the determination if the schools will remain closed for an additional period of time and I will be sharing my decision with you by next Friday, March 20th.

I realize this may create a difficult situation for some families and for this I am sorry.  My decision is based on keeping our students and staff as healthy as possible.

We will be providing a meal pick up service for students from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM at the following outdoor locations.

The nine (9) distribution sites will be as follows:

Wareham Middle School

Bandshell at Onset

Gleason Family YMCA

Woods @ Wareham

Swifts Beach Playground

Brandy Hill

Shangri La Playground

Decas Elementary School

West Wareham School Parking Lot

All students are welcome to pick up meals.  This will begin on Monday, March 16th and will continue until we return to school or until further notice.

The MIAA Spring Sports season has been delayed until March 30, 2020. Further information will be forthcoming.

It is with an abundance of caution and care for our community, and as a result of medical advice in the midst of this health crisis that we have made the difficult decision to cancel the 6th Annual Home and Living Show. Our 1st commitment is to the safety of both our students, vendors, and attendees and we felt in the public’s best interest to cancel. This was an extremely difficult decision for the DECA Program.
