Wareham Community Electricity Aggregation Program

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Eversource Residential Basic Service Rate Starting July 1: $0.10836 per kWh
Wareham Community Electricity Aggregation Program: $0.10770 per kWh

Wareham, MA – June 5, 2019 – The Town of Wareham residents voted at Town Meeting on October 26, 2015 to develop and implement a Community Electricity Aggregation program. The aggregation plan was developed by Good Energy, LP with the assistance of Wareham municipal officials in order to give residents and businesses more stable electricity rates for longer periods of time, offer more renewable energy options, along with the probability of lower electricity rates for the term of the electricity supply agreement, although savings cannot be guaranteed.

On May 20, 2019, Eversource announced the Residential Basic Service rate of $0.10836 per kilowatt hour (kWh) for the period July 1, 2019 to December 31, 2019. The Community Choice Aggregation rate for the same period is $0.10770 per kWh.

All Wareham residential accounts on Eversource Basic Service will automatically be enrolled in the program as of their August 2019 meter read. A letter detailing the program and sent by Dynegy, Inc., the competitive supplier, on behalf of the town will arrive on or about June 10, 2019. The letter will provide program details and instructions on how to opt-out of the program should the recipient not wish to participate. Account holders that do not receive a letter who wish to enroll in the Community Electricity Aggregation program should call Dynegy, Inc. Customer Service, Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM EST (excluding holidays) at (866) 220-5696.

The Town worked with Good Energy to develop a municipal aggregation plan. Residents will be enrolled automatically in the standard product which contains an amount of renewable energy required by the Commonwealth or can select a premium product that has 100% local renewable energy. The aggregation will be implemented on the August meter read date and seen on the September electric bill.

Any Wareham resident who wishes to leave the Community Electricity Aggregation program is advised to contact Dynegy, Inc. directly. Participants may leave the program at any time and for any reason without any associated termination fees or penalties.
