Wareham Free Library to Offer Curbside Pickup

Wareham, Mass. --- The Wareham Free Library will begin curbside pickup on Tuesday, June 23 at the Main Library at 59 Marion Road in Wareham. Hours for curbside pickup and telephone service are Monday through Friday, 10 AM to 4 PM.

Library patrons will be able to place any items in the SAILS Network on hold, but only Wareham Free Library items will be available to be picked up at the library, until delivery resumes. Holds can be placed over the phone by library staff or by patrons through their computer or SAILS mobile app. Patrons may call the circulation desk at (508) 295-2343 extension 1011 or 1013 to place holds at the library.

After holds are processed, patrons will receive a text message, e-mail or phone call from the library notifying them that their items are ready. During this call, patrons may make a five-minute appointment to pick up their items between 10 AM and 4 PM. Patrons must give their name, library card number, and a brief description of their vehicle over the phone, so library staff can check out the items.

After the appointment has been made, patrons must call the library fax number at (508) 295-2678 to let library staff know you are outside. Patrons are being asked to either open their trunks, rear doors or passenger side window before items are brought to your vehicle in a single-use bag. If you do not have a vehicle, appointments and alternate arrangements can still be made with the library. Patrons without a library card may also schedule appointments to register for a card. 

The Wareham Free Library is only offering service for pick-up only at this time. Patrons may return any item fine free using the book drop at the main entrance of the library or the Spinney Branch library through the end of July. There will be a three-day quarantine period for any items returned to the library, and due dates on items that were checked out on or before March 1 have been extended to July 31.

While the Wareham Free Library building remains closed to the public, staff are on hand to help patrons with item recommendations, assistance using Libby/Overdrive, and aid accessing our numerous free databases.
