How to Become an Election Worker

Interested in working at the polls on Election Day?

The Wareham Office of the Town Clerk is seeking registered voters interested in serving as Election workers. 

Requirements:

  • Be a registered voter in Massachusetts
  • Be available to work Election Day from 6:00 AM to 8:00 PM (or later).  Half day shifts may be available.
  • Must be able to attend MANDATORY training sessions.
  • Be able to assist with a variety of election-day duties, including (but not limited to):
    1. Identifying the voters as eligible
    2. Assisting voters when necessary
    3. Assuring that the election laws of the state are followed
  • Not to be a candidate on the ballot for a current election.
  • Complete a CORI form (for working in a school building).

Election Workers will receive training prior to working an election and may either volunteer or receive an election-day stipend.

Election workers are assigned to one of 6 polling locations, and may also be assigned to assist with Early Voting.
