Operations

The dedicated men and women who wear the uniform of the Wareham Police Department represent the Operations Division, which is under the command of The Police Chief. The uniformed patrol officers are the first to respond to community emergencies and concerns on a daily basis, and are considered to be the backbone of the Wareham Police Department.

The Operations Division consists of Sergeants and Patrol Officers assigned to cruisers, bicycles, and ATV’s, as well as specialized units and programs including the Traffic Enforcement Team, K-9 Unit, Southeastern Massachusetts Law Enforcement Council SWAT and Search & Rescue, School Resource Officer, Traffic Safety Officer, Crime Prevention, and the Field Training Officer Program.

The mission of the Operations Division is to be proactive in the quest to reduce the opportunity for crime, accidents, and the loss of property, as well as to protect the rights of all citizens. The Operations Division adheres to the philosophy of Community Oriented Policing and initiatives associated with problem solving methods and actions that best serve the citizens of Wareham and improve their quality of life.

The Operations Division pledges to serve the community with professionalism and excellence in 2012 and beyond.
